Welcome to KARA Adult Family Home, where personalized care and support are provided in a comfortable, home-like setting.
KARA Adult Family Home is a Washington State-licensed residential care home serving English- and Korean-speaking residents. Our experienced caregivers provide individualized assistance based on each resident’s assessed needs, preferences, and negotiated care plan.
In addition to personal care and daily living assistance, we offer opportunities for social interaction, recreation, and activities designed to support residents’ overall well-being.

These values guide the care we provide at KARA Adult Family Home. Our goal is to maintain a safe, respectful, and home-like environment while supporting each resident’s independence, preferences, and individual needs.
Our caregivers provide assistance in accordance with each resident’s assessment and negotiated care plan. When appropriate, we coordinate with residents, authorized representatives, families, physicians, nurses, therapists, hospice providers, home health agencies, and other healthcare professionals involved in the resident’s care.
Care and support are individualized and may change as a resident’s condition, abilities, preferences, or assessed needs change.
Personalized Services
Services at KARA Adult Family Home are individualized based on each resident’s assessment, health condition, functional abilities, personal preferences, healthcare provider orders when applicable, and negotiated care plan.
The type, frequency, and level of assistance provided may vary from resident to resident and may change as a resident’s needs or condition change.
Certain healthcare, therapy, hospice, home health, or other professional services may be provided or coordinated through outside licensed providers or agencies.
KARA Adult Family Home provides care and services within the home’s licensed scope and when the resident’s assessed needs can be safely and appropriately met with available qualified staff and reasonable accommodations.

- Private or Shared Rooms: Comfortable, home-like accommodations that residents may personalize with their belongings, subject to safety requirements and house policies.
- 24/7 Care and Supervision: Caregiver support and supervision are available around the clock based on residents’ assessed needs and care plans.
- Personalized Care: Individualized care and assistance based on each resident’s assessment, preferences, abilities, and negotiated care plan.
- Medication Support: Medication assistance or administration is provided according to the resident’s assessed needs, healthcare provider orders, negotiated care plan, and applicable Washington State requirements.
- Housekeeping and Laundry: Routine housekeeping, laundry, and linen services are provided. Frequency and assistance may vary according to individual needs, preferences, care plans, and house procedures.
- Healthcare Coordination: KARA AFH may coordinate with physicians, nurses, therapists, home health agencies, hospice providers, pharmacies, and other healthcare professionals involved in a resident’s care. Availability and frequency of outside professional services are determined by the applicable provider or agency and the resident’s individual needs.
- Wi-Fi and Communication Access: Wi-Fi and reasonable access to communication are available to help residents stay connected with family, friends, and others.
- Outdoor Space: Residents may enjoy available outdoor areas for relaxation and activities, as appropriate for their abilities and safety needs.
- Meals and Snacks: Home-cooked meals and snacks are provided with consideration for residents’ preferences, dietary needs, and healthcare provider recommendations or orders when applicable.
- Emergency Call System: Residents have access to a means of contacting caregivers when assistance is needed.
- Social and Recreational Activities: Opportunities for games, crafts, light exercise, movies, social interaction, and other activities based on resident interests and abilities.
- Personal Care Assistance: Assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, and other personal care needs as identified in the resident’s care plan.
- Health-Related Monitoring: Health-related observations or monitoring may be provided when identified in the resident’s assessment, care plan, or healthcare provider orders and within the home’s scope of care.
- Incontinence Care: Assistance with toileting and incontinence care based on the resident’s individual needs and care plan.
- Mobility Assistance: Assistance with walking, transfers, positioning, and mobility devices based on the resident’s assessed needs and care plan.
- Companionship and Emotional Support: Caregivers provide companionship, reassurance, and social support as part of the home-like environment.
- Hospice Care Coordination: Residents receiving hospice services may remain at KARA AFH when their needs can be safely and appropriately met. Hospice services are provided by licensed hospice agencies in coordination with KARA AFH.
- Respite Care: Short-term respite care may be available depending on licensed capacity, room availability, assessment, and the individual’s care needs.
- Family Communication: With appropriate resident authorization and consistent with privacy requirements, KARA AFH communicates with authorized family members or representatives regarding relevant care and well-being.
